Spring was here no time at all this year, along with the rush of colour sent through the spring/summer collections. The catwalk was transformed from the rich leathers and plaids of fall to the audacious primary colours and intense technicolour of spring.
One designer who showed probably the most extravagant yet bright collection was Miuccia Prada. The collection was a rainbow, infused with sportswear (tube socks featured widely), jewels and beading, luxury and pure Prada cool. She showed a range of textured coats with portraits of women printed onto them. The finale piece, was a strapless dress, covered in embellishments and half a rainbow.
This was a beautiful and playful show.
Other designers followed the trend such as Chanel and Fendi, who incorporated a couture feeling to the clothes. Fendi using ombré effects with bright blues and corals.
