New season trend report- Androgynous tailoring

We say a goodbye to the spring/summer season in the fashion world and welcome the incoming, new trends from the fall collections; whether it be the graphic geometric prints or the heaps of fuzzy furs; we greet them with open arms, ready to start preparation for the forthcoming autumnal months.

The first trend I would like to talk about is one that is much discussed in the tabloids, the androgynous look. Androgyny is the combination of both male and female characteristics. Androgyny can be conveyed through fashion quite cleverly due to the popularity of the look with certain designers. They are able to produce a strong, powerful look for women, each different depending on designer, but all so unique.
The art of tailoring creates the modern look that more and more now favour; maybe because you can find any shape; from wide shoulders to baggy pants, combined with the strong shades of classic monochromes and charcoal greys.
Designers such as Paul Smith, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham and Givenchy; all worked closely around the androgynous look for fall/winter, in order to help women of any age accomplish that effortless power and sophistication.

Male model, Andrej Pejić; now since Wednesday, a transgender woman-has the most phenomenal androgynous look ever. Her beauty is outstanding. She is famed for being a muse for Jean Paul Gaultier, featuring in both, his menswear and womenswear shows.
